SlimBound privacy notice: what we hold and for how long

What we collect on the site itself
Very little. This is a static site. There is no account system, no login, no comment form writing to a database and no advertising pixel. The contact form opens your own email client and sends a message to us; nothing is stored on this server. Standard web server logs record IP address, browser type, referring page and timestamp, which is how any web server works.
What the browser stores
One item, in session storage rather than a cookie: a flag recording that you dismissed the offer bar, so it does not reappear on every page in the same visit. It disappears when you close the tab. It contains no identifier and is never sent to us.
What happens when you order
Ordering SlimBound hands you to the authorized checkout partner. Your name, address, email and payment details are entered there, on their system, under their privacy notice. We never see or store your full card number. What reaches us is what we need to fulfil and support the order: name, delivery address, email address, order number and contents.
Why we hold it
To ship the SlimBound order, to answer support questions about it, to process a refund inside the 60-day window, and to keep the tax and accounting records US law requires of a registered company.
How long
SlimBound order and support records are kept for seven years, which is the retention period our accounting obligations set. Web server logs are rotated and discarded within 90 days. The session flag lasts until you close the tab.
Who else sees it
The checkout partner, the fulfilment centre that picks and packs, the carrier that delivers, and our accountants. Nobody else. We do not sell, rent or trade customer data, and we do not run an affiliate data-sharing arrangement on this domain.
Email from us
Transactional only unless you ask otherwise: confirmation, dispatch, tracking, and replies to things you send us. Every marketing email, if you ever opt into one, carries an unsubscribe link that works on the first click.
Your requests
Email [email protected] to ask what we hold about you, to correct it, or to have it deleted where no legal retention duty applies. We respond inside 30 days. Residents of states with specific privacy statutes, California among them, may exercise the rights those statutes give them by the same route, and we will not treat you differently for asking.
Children
This site and this product are for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18, and SlimBound should not be given to anyone under 18.
Changes
